GROUND SUMAC
GROUND SUMAC From $4.00

The Tang Thang! Once used as a souring agent by ancient Romans, super tangy Sumac is a coarsely textured powder made from ground berries of the sumac shrub. This deeply crimson coloured powder has a very faint fruity aroma with a tangy, lemon flavour. The berry contains a hard seed that needs to be removed before grinding.

  • + How to use

Commonly used as a souring agent and popular in Middle-Eastern cuisine, Sumac can be used generously and is fantastic with fish! It’s also delicious sprinkled over salads. Also can be mixed with a small amount of olive oil and rubbed into meats- especially good with chicken and fish, or used to make a delicious marinade. Next time you run out of lemons, simply add a small amount of Sumac instead for a similar flavour.
